I'm twenty-nine.
I can't even wrap my head around being twenty-nine.
Maybe it will be a little easier to wrap my head around when I turn twenty-nine again next year. What?
It's all about the recycling, sooooo I'm going to start recycling birthdays next year.
I should have started when I was twenty-six.
*sigh*
twenty-six
So today's edition of recycling is all about the birthday card.
Do you have any idea how much waste comes out of a birthday party? The paper/plastic tableware and the throw away party hats and table cloths?
Cloths.
That doesn't look like a real word.
Cloths.
The packaging for the cakes you picked up at Wal-Mart, the wrapping paper... the list goes on and on. The birthday party pretty much goes from your venue to the landfill.
Now I will be the first person to admit that I am not a fan of the e-card. It's very un-eco-friendly of me but I like a real card. I think e-cards feel so last minute and generic and cheap. Which is why, if you are going to send out real cards, you should at the very least make sure that they are printed on recycled paper, preferably with soy based inks. But if you want to go one step further, you can order either cards or paper to print your own cards with that are made from 100% recycled paper that has seeds in it. So after your recipent RSVPs, they can plant your card and grow some pretty flowers.
I would also think that this is a lovely way to send any card.
I would totally plant all of my birthday cards if they were made from seeded paper.
Do you know about something recycled and bad ass? Shoot me an email, yo. Link's on the rizz-ight.
