What do I want to write about?
I can't seem to narrow down the boat-load of thoughts I have in my head down to one or two poignant thoughts.
Sorry.
I want to write about Rob Thomas and how his new cd touches me.
I want to write about how glad I am that Fairy has found this guy that it looks like she is going to stay with... maybe forever. And how their two sons are like these bookends, they just fit perfectly. I am so proud of her for so many reasons right now. It makes me want to cry. In a good way.
I want to write about how my family is dispersing over the next few weeks. And how my sister and I just can't seem to find a relationship which kicks my ass. But also about how my brother and I have managed to and I never would have expected it.
I want to write about how this morning while Noah and I were driving to work, it suddenly occur ed to me that he may be headed in the direction of finding someone. My little brother, moving into a decent sized town with his two dogs and his apparent good looks and all that single guy no baggage thing going on. I just hope I like her.
I want to write about my trip to Ireland this time next year and start brainstorming with Jiffinner about what we're gonna do while we are there and maybe even start making reservations.
I want to write about how I miss my sister Blue and I wish I could go visit her.
I want to write about how I'm a little bothered by the fact that Mr.I and I haven't talked in awhile.
I want to write about Amanda and Em's dad and how his girlfriend asked me to let the girls call him for Father's Day and how I said no.
I want to write about the ideas I have for the girls rooms.
I want to write about the diet I'm about to go on which is less of a diet and more of an assisted lifestyle change.
I want to write about how the stuff at work is almost completely finished and I while it isn't what I wanted, it's better than what I didn't want.
I want to write about how I'm starting to feel a little lonely because HOLY SHIT I've been single for FOREVER. And while most of the time I am ok with that, it's bothering me a little right now.
And in that vein, I want to write about the very nice email I got from a very nice man on plenty of fish and how I wasn't even remotely attracted to him and that makes me feel bad.
I want to write about the movie coming out, My Sister's Keeper, which has previews that make me cry... and last night, when we were watching the previews and Cameron Diaz shaved her head, I told Amanda and Emilee that I would do that too if they had cancer and Amanda cried.
There is a lot I want to write about.
It's all coming people.
I'm about to explode from everything I've been holding in.

On feeling uninspired...
Eh.
Yeah I am so totally "eh"- I am neither inspired nor enthused.
I feel crowded.
And being crowded makes me so very cranky.
And if I feel crowded at home, then I feel even more crowded at work.
I need like a week off somewhere remote without people to bother me. I need to be alone. I need to have time with my brain and thoughts and ideas without other people in my space. Without distractions.
How much does that cost?

In other news, we had such a great Thanksgiving. I got to spend the whole day with The Cake Lady which is sooooo nice since we hardly get to see each other anymore. Add to that the fact that peeling potatoes was the extent of my laboring on Turkey Day and I am a pretty happy camper :) I drank a bunch of Butterbeer and took a bunch of pics with my new camera (which is ridiculously rad in case you were wondering). The Cake Lady was super nice and explained what a bunch of the buttons are on my new Nikon so I feel a little more informed now. I mean, how the heck is a girl to know what ISO setting she wants when she doesn't even effing know what an ISO is?

Pics are, as they have always been, here.
In case more than one browser window seems like it could just be too much for you today, I'll show you a few of my favorites. You know, because I'm cool like that :)

Here is Trin & Evan. This was the third or fourth shot I had taken of them in a row and Evan picked up that peice of cheese and held it up saying "cheese" when I shot it. Too adorable.

I think if you are very very nice to The Cake Lady (or have been friends with her for like ten years) or if you give her like two point five million dollars (picture me holding my pinky up to my mouth and saying that in my best Dr. Evil voice), she might make you these scones. These cranberry orange scones. These scones that are so freaking amazing you could have a gallon sized bag full of them, stuffed full of them and you still won't share not even one.
yum

My brother has this weird thing about him where whenever you try to take his picture, he puts on some retarded face. This happens in every. picture. I. take. of. him. We are having a study conducted by many medical professionals.

I love the looks on their faces. Emilee looks like she is all No, I'm not taking his money.... And Craig looks like he is all, help, she is taking all of my money.

I swear this picture wasn't staged. Evan threw a toy up on the roof and The Cake Lady's husband had Craig grab the ladder to get it down. And then all the kids decided to dangerously take the ladder back to the shed. I just happened to have my camera when it all happened. That's all.

My lovely little sister came down for Turkey Day and hung out. She was thoroughly enamored with my new camera and absconded with it several times when she went to visit friends. Here she is with Trin Trin.
Trin & Ruthie

Fairy has a similar affliction as my brother. Only instead of busting out her best Zoolander face like my brother does, she just covers her face and runs away. She loathes and abhors having her picture taken. It took much threatening and bribing to get her to hold still for this shot of her and her son.

I know ya'll must be getting tired of these pictures of my baby cockatiels. But I can't help it. I am grotesquely fascinated with them. They are so hideous and yet so raw. They are little birdies, you know? Usually you don't get to see them so young and as gross as it is, I am enthralled. Here is Woodstock. He is about two weeks old...

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, for the first time in my parenting career, I actually got the Christmas tree and decorations out. For the first time since becoming a Mommy, I didn't wait until rightbeforeChristmas to let the girls put the decorations. The girls did pretty much all of it which allowed me to take pictures of the whole ordeal.

Happy Birthday Ruthie!
My little sister turns 21 today! I absolutely cannot believe it. It seems only yesterday that she was this annoying little six-year-old that begged to go with me every time I left the house :P
Actually, Ruthie and I were always kinda close growing up. It wasn't until I got pregnant with Amanda and left that she and I sort of drifted apart.
I'd like to think that we've finally gotten back to that cool sister place.
She is a wonderful sister and I am so glad that she and I got to hang out so much over the last few years. I know I am going to miss her terribly now that she is moving to Austin.
Watch out world, she's 21 now!

Happy Mother's Day Blogosphere!
I woke up this morning and thanked the Dream Gods for the very hot blonde man that they sent me last night. Laying in bed wishing that not only the hot man had been real but also the trip to Hawaii, I looked over this morning to see my daughters had put their gifts on the table by my bed.
The t-shirt that they made at daycare had their painted foot prints on it and says "Our mom let's us walk all over her." Then there was the handprint flower pot from Trin and the keychain from Emilee.
And one dozen white roses from my sister.
DSCF0002
Which was really sweet of her :)

I came in to check my email and after chuckling at Snow and briefly thinking about the conversation she and I had last night, I read my horoscope:
Erotic dreams and visions might come to you throughout the day, Kate. This definitely implies that you should get together in the evening with your romantic partner, but there's probably more to it than that. Somehow these images are telling you something important, perhaps about yourself, perhaps about events going on around you. Forget physical sex for a moment, and consider what the symbols mean to you. You might be amazed at the insights that come up!

So now I am sitting here trying to remember the other parts of my dream...
I was in Hawaii, back on the road where I used to live. I was there to see how things had changed since our house had burned down and we had moved. And it was all exactly the same. But the house next door was now occupied by the most gorgeous and tall guy. Blonde hair, yummy bod (yeah, I just said 'bod' - shut it), a full foot taller than me.
Yummy man and I end up playing and then I am some how at a boat dock. Staying in a room there with him or something. And he has went some where and I go outside to get the broom and he left it leaning up against the boat and it slips into the water and no matter what I do, I can't seem to get it. I only tried for a few minutes and then figured I would have him get it when he got home.
That's it.
Not sure how much you can deduce from a dream like that.
And who really cares?
Did I mention the hot guy?
Yeah, I'm good with that.

As far as getting together with a romantic partner this evening, I am without. Not a huge deal. Would I turn down a dinner invitation with someone who's company I enjoy? Nope. But seeing as how there are only a few of those guys and I haven't really heard from any of them in the recent past, I am pretty sure I won't be heading out for a romantic evening tonight.

Instead, I am bribing my sister to take the girls away for a few hours so I can CLEAN my house. Oh man, it is a mess. We have been so busy with softball and gymnastics and work... I have fallen behind.

But, even on mornings such as this one where my oldest heathen has a nasty, nasty attitude, I am so grateful for these kidlets. I look over right now at Trin and see her sitting on the floor playing with her dollhouse and Emilee completely kicked back letting the TV suck out her brain and Amanda who is the Queen of The Smartasses and I just love that they are mine.
Being a mom is not all roses and cake, it is hard. It is physically, emotionally and mentally trying almost every minute of every day. And I love it. I love them and I love all of the trials and happiness that they have brought to me.
I hope all of you moms out there are able to look at your kids and be thankful for what they have brought to your life today.
And I hope you are also able to sit back and relax, even if just for a few minutes. Because each of you are awesome. Those little people who woke up this morning with disheveled hair and sleepy smiles, those are your little people. And they love you so much.
Happy Mother's Day.
